Medical Advisory Council

The Children's Heart Foundation's Medical Advisory Council (MAC) is comprised of nationally recognized pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physician-scientists, and PhD researchers, along with lay reviewers from the CHD community.

The MAC oversees the Foundation's rigorous research grant review process, ensuring every proposal is evaluated with scientific excellence, innovation, and potential impact in mind. Each application submitted to CHF undergoes an independent peer-review by leading experts from across the country, while lay reviewers provide valuable insight into how proposed research aligns with the needs of children and families affected by CHDs and the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation.

This comprehensive review process ensures donor support is invested in the most promising, scientifically rigorous research—giving families hope today, while advancing discoveries that will improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects for generations to come.
