URM in Medicine Research Training Award

Underrepresented Minority in Medicine (URM) Research Training Award

We believe increasing diversity and addressing health disparities in CHD research is integral to achieving our mission of helping all patients impacted by CHDs live longer, healthier lives. Our inaugural URM Training Award aims to partially offset the cost for underrepresented minorities in medicine (URM) to obtain formal training in research methods via a Masters (e.g., MPH, MSCI) or PhD program to facilitate a career in translational or clinical research in congenital heart disease.

One $10,000 URM Training award may be granted in 2024. Funds will be sent directly to the awardee’s degree program (balance of degree program to be paid by awardee’s division/department).
