Amy Hecht

Amy Hecht is a nationally respected higher education leader with more than two decades of experience advancing student success, organizational strategy, and community engagement. She currently serves as Vice President for Student Affairs at Florida State University, overseeing broad initiatives focused on student well-being, engagement, and institutional effectiveness.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hecht has held executive leadership roles at major public institutions, including Vice President for Student Affairs at Florida State University and The College of New Jersey, and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Auburn University. She is known for strategic leadership, crisis management expertise, and a commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive environments where individuals and communities can thrive.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from Florida State University and her master’s and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. She has been actively involved with the Children’s Heart Foundation since 2021 and is deeply committed to advancing its mission to fund groundbreaking research that improves outcomes for children with congenital heart defects. Her youngest daughter, Izzy, was born with pulmonary atresia in 2019. Thanks to the incredible research advances of the past, Izzy is thriving. Amy is honored to serve on the Board and to support the Foundation’s work on behalf of children and families nationwide.
