Rachel Payne serves as the Vice President, HR Business Partner for Corewell Health West in Grand Rapids, MI.  Rachel earned both her undergrad and graduate degrees from Davenport University.  Rachel and her husband have two daughters, Audrey, and Addyson.  Addyson was born with VACTERL, which stands for vertebral defects, anal atresia, cardiac defects, tracheo-esophageal fistula, renal anomalies, and limb abnormalities. People diagnosed with VACTERL association typically have at least three of these characteristic features.  Addy had 4 of these birth defects, specifically several cardiac defects (CHDs).  Addyson had several surgeries right after she was born, inclusive of three heart surgeries.  Rachel looked for a way to support an organization that helps kids with heart conditions, which lead her to Children’s Heart Foundation, Michigan Region.
