On July 8, Texas offensive tackle and congenital heart defect survivor Trevor Goosby turned his personal journey into a powerful day of giving back by hosting a Youth Football Camp benefiting The Children's Heart Foundation.
Born with an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Trevor unknowingly lived with a congenital heart defect until a high school physical led to a diagnosis and, ultimately, open-heart surgery. Today, projected as one of the top prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft, Trevor is using his platform to raise awareness for CHDs and help fund the research that gives children born with heart defects, like himself, a brighter future.
Hundreds of young athletes gathered at Hyde Park High School in Austin for a day of football, fun, and inspiration, while learning about the importance of CHD research. The event also launched Trevor's fundraising campaign in support of The Children's Heart Foundation.
Trevor has generously pledged to personally match every donation made through the campaign up to $20,000, doubling the impact of every gift and helping accelerate life-saving research.
"Congenital heart defects impact thousands of children and families every year, and research is what gives them hope for a healthier future," said Goosby. "I'm grateful for the care I received and am excited to support The Children's Heart Foundation in helping fund the discoveries that will save and improve lives."
We are incredibly grateful to Trevor for sharing his story, inspiring the next generation, and helping advance our mission. Together, we're creating hope for Heart Warriors everywhere.
