AUSTIN, TX, June 24, 2026 – Texas offensive tackle and congenital heart defect (CHD) survivor Trevor Goosby is turning his personal journey into an opportunity to give back by hosting a free Youth Football Camp benefiting The Children's Heart Foundation (CHF), the nation's leading organization dedicated solely to funding research on congenital heart defects – America’s most common birth defect.
As part of the initiative, Goosby will personally match all donations made to The Children's Heart Foundation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000. The football camp will take place on July 8, 2026 at Hyde Park High School in Austin, offering young fans and athletes an unforgettable day of football, fun, and inspiration while raising awareness for CHD research.
Born with an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Goosby underwent open-heart surgery during high school after a routine physical uncovered the congenital heart defect he had unknowingly lived with since birth. Now a rising star on the football field, Goosby is using his platform to help advance research that can improve outcomes for future generations of children born with CHDs.
"Congenital heart defects impact thousands of children and families every year, and research is what gives them hope for a healthier future," said Goosby. "I'm grateful for the care I received and am excited to support The Children's Heart Foundation in helping fund the discoveries that will save and improve lives."
Representatives from The Children's Heart Foundation will be on-site during the camp to share information about congenital heart defects and the organization's 30-year history of funding groundbreaking research aimed at advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs.
"We are incredibly grateful to Trevor for sharing his story and making such a meaningful commitment to congenital heart defect research," said Terry Morrow, President & CEO of The Children's Heart Foundation. "His generosity, combined with the power of a matching gift, will help accelerate research that brings us closer to better treatments, improved outcomes, and more answers for individuals living with CHDs, like Trevor.”
Hosted in partnership with FlexWork Sports, the free camp will provide young athletes with hands-on instruction from Goosby and experienced coaches through skill stations, interactive drills, and team-building activities. While the camp itself is free to attend, participants and community members are encouraged to support Goosby's fundraising effort benefiting CHF.
Support Trevor's Match Campaign
Every donation made through the campaign will be matched by Trevor Goosby up to $20,000, doubling the impact for life-saving congenital heart defect research.
The camp is open to children ages 6-16 and advanced registration is required.
