Monica Anderson is a Heart Mom and is very passionate about the cause as a result.  Her daughter was born with a very large hole in her heart called a VSD that was later complicated with aortic valve prolapse.  Her daughter had open heart surgery to fix the VSD and a small PFO at 9 months old.  Monica had been volunteering with the foundation since 2019.  Her main goal was to bring the Congenital Heart Walk back to the DC area and became the Event Chair for the DC inaugural walk in 2021 and returned as Event Chair for the 2022 walk.
